Join Cheriss May in collaboration with Leica for a dynamic photo walk designed to sharpen your portrait photography skills under time pressure. Whether you're working with natural light or a simple flash, and navigating a bustling environment, this session will help you refine your skills when creating portraits, with tips and techniques to help you quickly assess your surroundings, make authentic connections, and create compelling portraits in just minutes. Explore the power of available light in portrait photography with this dynamic session. Perfect for street photographers, event photographers, or anyone who wants to level up their on-the-spot portrait game. Bring your camera, your curiosity, and get ready to photograph fast and smart.
A selection of Leica cameras and lenses will be available for loan via a registration form to be sent via email. Registration via the Wufoo form is required to obtain a loan.
Advanced registration required, however not all registrants are guaranteed a loan camera due to limited availability.
A valid US ID (Passport, State ID or Driver's License), Credit Card and SD card are required to loan a camera.
In order to participate in the Leica on loan program participants are required to leave their ID and credit card with a Leica representative at the Leica booth. All attendees materials will be stored in a safe space that will be monitored by a designated Leica employee.
Featured Artist Bio:
Cheriss May is an acclaimed editorial and portrait photographer, selected by Peerspace as one of “The 12 Best Editorial Photographers in Washington, D.C.”. She is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, and People magazine, and has been published on The White House website, ABC News, and other publications. Her work is featured at Le Coin in Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC, the permanent collections of the African American Museum in Philadelphia, Pa., and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, NY, and currently exhibiting at the Leica Gallery in Boston. Cheriss is an educator, a Leica Ambassador, a mentor at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and an Adobe Content Authenticity Pioneer.
